Contemporary use of technology in classroom setting. Personal experience
"Technology has always been at the forefront of human education. From the days of carving figures on rock walls to today, when most students are equipped with several portable technological devices at any given time, technology continues to push educational capabilities to new levels. In looking at where educational methods and tools have come from to where they are going in the future, technology’s importance in the classroom is evident now more than ever." (Richardson, 2024)

Nowadays it is crucial to realise the fact that teachers must follow the trends in using technology in their classroom as traditional approaches in delivering lessons have being experienced dramatic shift to a modern and more engaging approaches. From my own experience of teaching, when I was starting my carrier as an EFL teacher, I was used to work with course books and dictionaries. I was asking my students to bring their dictionaries and search for the meaning of the words by themselves. It was very time consuming since online dictionaries were not available as well as online course books. Later on, I had an experience in using projectors as an alternative way of illustrating my slides to my students. It helped me to organise my lessons through making presentation slides, which helped to increase my student's motivation towards learning. They could easily follow the slides and watch video tutorials where it was available.
Another technological advance, which became popular among schools and universities of Tashkent after projectors are touch screen Smart TV boards. They can easily substitute white boards and projectors as they may fulfill the same tasks. Moreover, these touch screen TVs have an access to an internet, meaning teacher will be able to use different online warm up activities and games throughout lesson. In my experience working with Smart TV boards in classroom, I enjoyed using Oxford Books application, where teacher can download any coursebook online and use it throughout lessons. This gives much opportunity to students to learn better, since coursebooks have an auto play versions of audio recordings, meaning you do not have to play recordings separately as well as videos. There are signs of the video materials or audio recording, which teacher can easily click on and demonstrate to students. I have gained many positive insights by using Smart Boards and online applications in my teaching experience.

It was very interesting to read about your experience. I like how well you have described the process of technology integration into EFL lessons in the context of our country.
