EdPuzzle and Genially. My personal insights
In an era of developing technology, teachers' responsibility increases over integrating these technology tools into their educational purposes. In today's blog post I would like to share my experience of using EdPuzzle and Genially online platforms.
EdPuzzle
To begin with, in my opinion EdPuzzle is a great tool to create educational videos with related questions so that students while watching a certain video stay focused trying to answer questions coming right during watching it. There might be a question why should educators use this type of tools if they can just play the video and ask questions at the end? So my answer for this question is the while playing video teacher can easily lose student's attention and not receive expected results.
However, with EdPuzzle teachers can create questions with the help of AI regarding different parts of the speech in the video and place them inside the video. Basically, the video will be played and at certain parts it will be stopped automatically asking related question to what was heard. This is a great opportunity for educators to develop students' critical thinking and check comprehension. Another advantage of EdPuzzle is that it has a library where teachers can find ready made content which they can use for free. To be honest, I am planning to integrate this tool almost on most of my lesson plans to increase my students' motivation and engagement.
Genially
Next tool which I found interesting and useful is Genially. Many educators especially at schools where I worked had troubles with looking for a new engaging activities to increase their students' motivation in classroom. Therefore, from my own experience, I would recommend to use Genially AI tool to design an interactive activity in which I am sure many students will be interested and engaged. Educators can create interactive presentations, interactive images, interactive games (timelines with missions, escape rooms etc.) within a short period of time.
If you are interested in using these tools in your classroom I will leave links to video tutorials which you might find useful. Please leave your comments and share your own experiences!
